When determining the forward reflection of a solid sample, the incident angle is important. For the concentrated beam, the incident angle will change with the change of focal length, resulting in differences in the predicted and actual values of optical films such as conductive multilayer films and prisms.
For parallel beams, the incident angle of all samples is approximately parallel, so the forward reflection can be determined with high accuracy. In addition, parallel light beams are also effective for diffusion evaluation (haze) and lens transmittance measurement.
